Ons & Sálvora Islands Day Trip

  • 14 reviews | 150 travellers
It was a great day, the island is beautiful, unbeatable scenery. Stunning white sand beaches. As for the boat, everything is great, I would add a ramp to get off, to make it more accessible, and notify with an email or notification that the tickets must be printed.

Ons & Sálvora Islands Day Trip

At the indicated time, we'll depart by ferry from the Portonovo dock towards the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia.

After 35 minutes of sailing on the Pontevedra estuary, we'll arrive at Ons Island. Once we disembark, you'll have 3.5 hours of free time in this enclave of crystal-clear waters.

You can take advantage of your free time to relax on its spectacular beaches, have a picnic with the food you brought with you, or stroll along the island's trails. One of the best paths is the one that leads to the lighthouse of Ons. Did you know that it's one of the largest in Spain?

After free time on Ons, we'll meet again at the pier of the island to continue sailing. This time, we'll sail for 35 minutes towards the Arosa estuary, where Sálvora Island is located.

Due to the protected nature of the enclave, where only certain paths are allowed, we'll walk with a guide along the paths of Sálvora. On this route, we'll see the famous sculpture of the mermaid, the hermitage, and the lighthouse of the island. At the end of the visit to Sálvora, we'll return to the ferry to sail back to the island of Ons, where we'll pickup other passengers.

Finally, at 7:30 pm we'll set sail from the dock of Ons Island back to the starting point in Portonovo.

Important: Authorization to visit Ons and Sálvora Islands

The islands of Ons and Sálvora are a protected area with a daily quota of visitors, and in order to travel to them, it's necessary to obtain an authorization from the Xunta de Galicia. The local tour company will be in charge of this process, so it's very important that all the required info is provided in the booking process and that it's valid, otherwise, we cannot guarantee access to the island.

Once the authorization has been processed, you'll receive it by e-mail. It's essential that you bring it along with your voucher, either in printed format or on your cell phone.

If you cannot attend the activity, you must give at least 15 days notice and indicate the name and surname of the person who will be absent so that the Xunta de Galicia can remove him/her from the list.
