Experience an unforgettable encounter with the nature of Argentine Patagonia on this whale watching tour in Puerto Pirámides. You'll sail through Golfo Nuevo!
Tour Details
After meeting at the scheduled time at the 2nd descent to the sea, we'll walk to the Puerto Pirámides pier, where the boat that will take us sailing through the calm waters of Golfo Nuevo, the nursery of the southern right whale, will be waiting.
Once we are ready, the excitement will begin the moment we set sail through the waters that bathe the Valdés Peninsula. During the cruise, the captain and crew will share stories about the unique characteristics of these whales, which travel thousands of kilometers to reproduce in this sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The best season for whale watching in Puerto Pirámides is between June and December, when around 2,000 whales roam these waters, and we'll have the privilege of observing them up close.
Before you know it, we'll see the first whale swimming near the surface. If we are lucky, we may witness them lifting their tails in a slow sway, or even surprise us with a leap that breaks the silence of the sea.
Often, they approach the bow curiously, sometimes passing under the boat, offering us an intimate and moving spectacle. We'll be able to photograph them from different angles, keeping in mind the image of a mother teaching her calf to breathe at the surface.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes of sailing, we'll return to the pier with hearts full of gratitude for having witnessed one of nature's most grandest encounters.
Sunset Departure
If you book the 5:30 pm departure, we'll sail for an extra 30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the spectacle of the sun setting over the sea and increasing your chances of spotting whales.
Whale Watching
Golfo Nuevo in Puerto Pirámides is one of the best places in Argentina to observe whales. However, these animals are unpredictable. The number of whales you may see can vary depending on several factors, including current weather conditions or the breeding season.
