On this cycling tour around Puerto Plata, we'll explore the historic centre and visit the Amber Museum and San Felipe Fortress - an unforgettable tour with stunning views of the Atlantic!
Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time in front of the CESEP headquarters to begin our cycling tour of Puerto Plata. Firstly, we'll pedal along the shaded streets, where we'll enjoy a coffee made from beans grown in the Yaroa highlands.
Once we're on our bikes again, we'll make our way to the iconic Parque Independencia passing down Callejón Rosado. We'll see this street surrounded by Victorian-style houses and eventually reach San Felipe Cathedral.
Did you know that Dominican amber is the best in the world? We'll learn all about this precious stone in the popular Puerto Plata Amber Museum, which was one of the filming sets for the Jurassic Park movie. Discover what makes it so special!
Then, we'll continue towards the fire station and the Murales y Chichiguas Street. Did you know that this last word is used by the Dominicans to refer to paper kites? It's a real explosion of colour!
The next stop will be Puerto Plata Cigar to explain the importance of Dominican tobacco and coffee. Finally, we'll cycle along the Malecon where we'll see stunning views of the Atlantic. We'll then arrive at the Puntilla de Puerto Plata, where we'll check out San Felipe Fortress. There, we'll explore its museum over the course of an hour.
After 3 hours together, we'll bring this cycling tour of Puerto Plata to an end by returning to the starting point.
