Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Ignacio at 6 am and make our way to the dock, known as Bats Landing, which will then lead us to the northern part of the country, often referred to as the northern lowlands due to its lack of mountainous terrain.
Once we arrive at the New River dock, we’ll embark on a captivating voyage across the mystical lagoon, where we can delve into more than 3000 years of Mayan history. During this excursion, we may encounter the elusive boat-billed heron, both fresh and saltwater crocodiles, river turtles, and the resonant howls of Yucatan black howler monkeys in the background as we venture deep into the forest that was once home to this mighty civilization.
When we arrive at the archaeological site, a knowledgeable tour guide will accompany us, catering to your specific interests. We’ll spend approximately 1.5 hours exploring the site before concluding our visit with a delicious lunch. After lunch, we'll return to the majestic New River dock.
Finally, after a day filled with adventure, we’ll drop you back to your hotel.
