Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at your hotel or in front of the Museo Regional de Querétaro. Once ready, we'll travel to the Magical Town of Tequisquiapan, famous for its cobbled streets, bohemian atmosphere and long wine-making tradition.
After an hour's drive, our first stop will be at the La Mexicana Olé delicatessen, where we'll taste artisan cheeses accompanied by a glass of exquisite Querétaro wine. An expert sommelier will introduce us to the nuances of flavour and aroma that distinguish each variety, making this experience a true feast for the senses.
Afterwards, you'll have 2 hours of free time in Tequisquiapan to explore its main square, visit the craft markets, or try the famous cheese bread, a local pride and joy, on your own. We'll meet up again and continue on to Freixenet de México, one of the most renowned wineries in the centre of town.
There, we'll learn about the wine-making process, from harvesting to fermentation and bottling. We'll also visit their underground cellars located 25 m (82 ft) below ground. We'll discover how the altitude and semi-desert climate of the Bajío influence the quality of the wine and taste a wine from the winery. In addition, you'll receive a souvenir glass as a memento of this visit.
Afterwards, we'll drive to the Magic Town of San Sebastián de Bernal, which stands out for its great gastronomic tradition. Here, you'll enjoy 2 hours of free time to have lunch, explore the picturesque village and contemplate the third-largest monolith in the world, known as the Peña de Bernal.
Finally, we'll make our way back to Santiago de Querétaro and end the excursion by dropping you off at the meeting point, where we'll conclude this 9-hour activity.
