Seoul Culture & Food Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet outside Hyehwa Station to start this food tour of Seoul. Are you ready to delight in the most authentic flavors of the South Korean capital? Here we go!
Throughout our food tour of Seoul, we'll get to know the typical flavours of the country while exploring some of the city's most enchanting spots to visit in the evening.
Our first stop will be Changgyeong Palace, where the elegant Myeongjeongjeon Hall and serene Chundangji Pond create a magical evening atmosphere. As we stroll the grounds of this 15th-century palace, our guide will share fascinating stories of royal life and point out charming details like ornate gates and stone bridges.
Next, we'll dive into the lively atmosphere of Gwangjang Market. Here, we'll get the chance to visit three of the market's best stores and taste some of South Korea's most iconic street foods, from crispy Jeon, savoury pancakes, to sweet, twisted donuts known as Kkwabaegi. For the more adventurous, optional tastings of chopped live octopus and beef tartare await, all perfectly paired with a glass of traditional Makgeolli rice wine. With insider tips, we'll learn all about the top flavours of South Korea's cuisine!
As we continue, we'll stroll along Ikseon-dong Hanok Street, admiring its preserved houses. Then we'll make our way to Insadong, a cultural hotspot brimming with art, crafts, and souvenirs.
To round off the experience, we'll visit Jogyesa Temple, a peaceful oasis in the city and the centre of Korean Zen Buddhism since the early 20th century. Inside, you'll see the main Buddha Hall with its vibrant statues, intricate paintings, and rows of lanterns symbolizing hope and enlightenment. Our guide will share insights into Buddhist traditions and the temple's important role in Seoul’s spiritual life.
Finally, after a total of 4 hours, our adventure will end at this temple.
