Snorkelling Details
At the designated time, we'll meet on St. George's Street. At this point in Simon's Town, we'll hand over all the necessary equipment, provide a brief introduction, and determine the best spot to go diving depending on the weather conditions. Ready to explore the depths of the Great African Seaforest? Time to go snorkelling!
Depending on the sea conditions, our dive will take place at Windmill Beach or Millers Point, each a 5 to 10-minute drive from Simons' Town. Both locations are protected areas which feature spectacular kelp forests which serve as a refuge for many species of fish, crustaceans, and sharks. A true underwater sanctuary!
If we go snorkelling on Windmill Beach, we'll enjoy a setting protected by granite formations that extend into the sea. This landscape is ideal for spotting nurse sharks and other marine creatures that live amongst the rock channels and the dense jungle of algae.
On the other hand, if the activity takes place in Millers Point, we'll venture into a world made up of huge rocks and sea caves, home to colourful coral reefs, anemones, and a huge variety of sea life. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled, we might stumble across a surprise or two!
After a 40 to 60-minute dive, we'll return to the shore and back to the meeting point, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 2 and 2.5 hours.
