Christmas Markets Tour
I'm dreaming of a... Christmas market! Winter brings a chill to Strasbourg, and with it, one of the most special times of year for Alsace. Ready to delve into the festive spirit? We'll meet up at 9 am in Parc de l'Étoile and hop onto our minibus, before setting off on a tour of the most beautiful Christmas Markets in this region of France.
The first stop of the day will be in Riquewhir. In this charming French town, we'll embark on a two hour walking tour of its streets, admiring the twinkling lights and sparkling decorations that adorn its picturesque architecture. The town is full of Christmas handicraft shops, and you'll find it hard to resist bringing ornaments home to decorate your house!
What's more, the delicious aroma of the typical seasonal foods sold in the Christmas markets will have your mouth watering. We recommend trying pretzels and "bredele de Noël", special Alsatian gingerbread biscuits made at this time of year.
We'll then return to the minibus for the journey to Eguisheim, where you'll discover one of the most spectacular markets in Alsace. The hour we'll spend exploring its adorable stalls and perusing the locally made crafts won't seem like enough!
Finally, we'll head to Colmar, a city that undergoes a complete transformation at Christmas time. Buildings and streets are decorated with bright ornaments, creating different festive atmospheres depending on the neighbourhood. You'll have three hours of free time in Colmar to explore its narrow streets at your own pace. Don't leave without tasting the famous vin chaud, steaming cups of hot mulled wine!
At the end of the day, we'll drive back to Strasbourg, arriving at around 7:30 pm.
