On this day trip to Canberra from Sydney, we'll travel to the capital of Australia and discover places such as the Australian War Memorial and the Parliament.
Description
We'll pick you up at the Holiday Inn Darling Harbor in Sydney at the indicated time and head south. As we head into the Highlands, you'll enjoy the picturesque scenery of this region as we make our way to Canberra, Australia's capital city.
After approximately 3.5 hours, we'll arrive in this beautiful city, which we'll begin to discover from the vehicle. We'll take a 1-hour drive past landmarks and buildings with a unique architectural design. Along the route, you'll be able to admire the special layout of the city, strategically and spectacularly designed.
Around midday, we'll stop at a restaurant so you can grab some lunch. We recommend getting the all-you-can-eat buffet, the perfect way to refuel for the rest of the day!
Feeling refuelled and refreshed, we'll head to one of Canberra's most important landmarks: Australia's Parliament House. Here, you'll get a close-up view of the seat of government and admire its modern architecture, a symbol of the country's political power. The building was inaugurated by Elizabeth II herself in 1988 and since then it has witnessed all the key moments in the country's history. We'll hear all about them!
Then, we'll move on to the famous Lake Burley Griffin, where we'll see the Captain Cook Memorial and other iconic sites such as the Supreme Court and the War Memorial, a centre that pays tribute to all Australians who lost their lives in the wars in which the country has been involved.
Afterwards, we'll head up to Mount Ainslie Lookout, where we'll enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of the Australian capital—the perfect place to take photos and see the city from above!
Finally, we'll return to Sydney, where we'll say our goodbyes at the meeting point after 12 hours.
