Adventurers of all ages, get ready: explore the tropical wilderness of the Nicoya Gulf on a crocodile safari. You'll take a leisurely boat ride on the Tárcoles River while admiring the lush scenery around you.
Tárcoles River Crocodile Safari
At the scheduled time, we'll meet up next to the Tárcoles River and set off on a safari to see crocodiles in their natural habitat. This part of Tárcoles happens to be home to one of the world's largest populations of these semiaquatic reptiles.
Once we've introduced ourselves, we'll board a boat that'll take us downstream to get our safari started. Get ready to see American crocodiles that are up to 16 feet (5 metres) long!
During our safari, we'll venture deep into the jungle and discover how the crocodiles and other wild animals that live around the Tárcoles River thrive here. This area is also home to numerous bird species and is an incredible mangrove ecosystem.
As we cruise through the Guacalillo Estuary, you'll admire four different species of trees. In addition, our safari will bring us close to more than 50 types of birds, iguanas and Jesus Christ lizards - any idea how they got this nickname?
At the end of your jungle crocodile safari, you'll be taken back to the meeting point 2 hours after pick up.
