Sail around the south of Tenerife on board a catamaran sailboat from which you will not only observe whales and dolphins but also hear the magical strange sounds that these mammals emit.
Whale and Dolphin Catamaran Experience
Our journey starts at jetty 8 from Puerto Colon: a dock located in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife. Here we will board the eco catamaran boat which has a capacity for up to 60 people.
Due to the marine currents that circulate the Canary Islands, we will witness a variety of large cetacean creatures such as pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. What you see on the day of your trip will depend on the weather conditions.
Not only will we see them swimming very close to us, but we will also learn to understand their behavior by listening to them. These animals emit a diverse range of characteristic sounds as a way of communicating. Their language is so complicated that many experts recognize it as a ‘dialect’.
Halfway through our journey, we will pause on our route so that you can also take a dip in the middle of the ocean. You can also recharge your batteries on board with the selection of sandwiches, snacks, and drinks (beer, soft drinks, white wine and mineral water).
We will conclude our trip back at the same pier from where we departed.
5 Hour Cruise
Three hours not enough? If you prefer you can extend the experience, with a five hour cruise and lunch on board the boat. That way, you'll have more time to enjoy the trip, and you'll fuel up!
Having taken a refreshing dip, we'll serve you a delicious paella with chicken and rabbit, as well as a side of traditional Canarian "Mojo", fresh fruit and a free bar of beer, white wine and mineral water.
Then following five hours of sea breezes and whalesong, we'll head back to dry land.
Sea creatures are unpredictable. The number of dolphins and whales we spot on our trip will depend on the marine currents, winds, the weather conditions and other circumstances beyond our control.
