Day Trip Details
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Tirana at 8 am and head south toward Berat, the city of a thousand windows. After a two-hour drive, we’ll arrive at our destination.
Our first stop will be Berat Castle, perched on top of a hill. We’ll enjoy a guided tour of this impressive fortress, home to churches, viewpoints, and small restaurants where the charm of the old city is still alive. As we stroll through its narrow streets, we’ll share its fascinating history—did you know it was burned by the Romans in 200 BC?
After visiting the castle, you’ll have free time to explore Berat’s traditional neighborhoods and have lunch on your own. We recommend visiting some of its churches and mosques, such as the Lead Mosque, the King Mosque, and the Bachelor’s Mosque. If you’d like, you can also use this time to visit the Onufri Museum on your own.
We’ll then meet again and head to Gorica Bridge, which spans the Osum River and is one of Berat’s most iconic landmarks.
Finally, we’ll return to Tirana and drop you off at your hotel around 3 pm.
