Ready to explore Slovenia? We'll pick you up at your hotel in Trieste at the scheduled time and board a bus that will take us out of Italy and across the border to Ljubljana, the political, cultural, and administrative center of Slovenia.
Known for its rich history and its contrast between ancient and modern architecture, the city of Ljubljana and its picturesque historic center, designed by Jože Plečnik, will steal your heart. This Slovenian architect transformed a provincial town into the bustling modern capital of Slovenia.
We'll take a guided tour of Ljubljana which will take us to all of its cultural must-sees, including the Town Hall, the Cathedral, and the Congress and Prešeren squares. We'll see the Triple Bridge, the Cobblers Bridge, and the Dragon Bridge, where we'll take the opportunity to learn about some fascinating Slovenian mythology. We'll also stroll along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, one of the most beautiful areas of the city.
By now you'll have built up an appetite! We'll leave you an hour of free time so that you can explore a bit on your own and grab some lunch. Afterwards, we'll hop back on the bus and head to Bled, an alpine town with absolutely breathtaking lakeshore views.
Once there, we'll stroll along Lake Bled and appreciate sights such as the Church of the Assumption of Mary and the Bled Castle. Afterwards, we'll stop at a pastry shop where, if you wish, you can try a kremšnita, a traditional Slovenian dessert made with vanilla and cream.
Finally, we'll begin the bus journey back to Trieste. You'll be dropped off at your hotel seven hours after pickup.
