On this day trip from Tunja to the Ocetá moor, uncover one of the most stunning destinations of Boyaca, an inland Colombian gem!
Why Visit Boyaca Region?
We'll pick you up from your Tunja hotel at the designated time and head northeast to explore one of the most exquisite landscapes in the Boyacá region.
After about 2.5 hours, we'll reach Mongui. In this charming town, we'll set off on a hiking expedition to Ocetá, renowned as the most beautiful moor in the world. A significant portion of its splendor can be attributed to the vast expanse of frailejones, an endemic plant that cultivates a truly unique atmosphere.
Depending on the group's pace, the hike to the Ocetá Moor can last between 4 and 6 hours. Throughout this hike, we'll traverse an ecological trail, offering an opportunity to appreciate the region's abundant natural treasures. Along the path, we'll also encounter and learn about various species of fauna and flora thriving in this ecosystem.
Our route will bring us back to Monkgui, where we'll indulge in a well-deserved traditional meal that features an appetizer, a main Boyaca dish of fish or meat, and a refreshing drink.
With our bellies full, we'll bring you back to your hotel, arriving about 10 hours after pickup.
