Having been picked up from your hotel in Udaipur, you'll be taken to the Kumbhalgarh monumental complex, located around a two hour drive away from the city.
Thanks to your expert English-speaking guide, you'll discover all about the powerful Mewar kingdom, why they chose to build such a huge fortress in Rajasthan's Aravalli Hills, and against which fierce enemies they were trying to protect themselves. As you uncover the history of this area of the subcontinent, you'll enter the Kumbhalgarh fortress itself to truly appreciate the impressive strength of this vast walled palace complex. The defensive walls, at around 22 miles long, make it the second longest in the world.
