Explore one of Mexico's Magical Towns and discover the legacy of the Mayas with this fantastic trip to Chichen Itza, Izamal, and the Yokdzonot Cenote.
Chichen Itza and Izamal Trip
Between 7 and 7:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Valladolid before setting off for Chichen Itza only 45 minutes away.
Once there, we will enter the Mayan site to explore its magnificent temples and discover its deities with a brilliant guided tour lasting one and a half hours. This site is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the modern world. Afterward, you will have free time to continue exploring this ancient city in your own way.
Afterward, we will set off for the Yokdzonot cenote, one of the most beautiful natural pools on the Yucatan Peninsula. Here you can enjoy swimming and diving in depths of over 130 feet. Around 12:30 pm, we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch where you can choose between chicken, panuchos, salbutes, empandas, or poc-chuc.
Feeling reenergized, we will set off for enchanting Izamal, known as the city of three cultures. We will visit one of the largest structures in Mesoamerica, Kinich Kak Moo which you can climb if you are daring enough! Then we'll visit a craft workshop to see traditional works of art being produced.
Finally, we will return to Valladolid, where we arrive at your hotel at around 6:30 pm.
The artisan workshop will be at one of these four places, depending on availability:
- Cocoyol workshop: jewelry with the seeds of local fruit and thorns from the Henequen plant.
- Miniature workshop: small-scale artwork.
- Paper maché workshop: working and painting completely by hand with paper maché.
- Wood carving workshop.
