Here's what each route involves:

Hallstatt Day Trip

On the day of the tour, we'll meet near the Vienna State Opera and set out on a road trip that will allow us to admire the beauty of the Salzkammergut mountain region.

After a 3.5-hour drive, we'll arrive in Hallstatt, a village nestled in the Austrian Alps whose charm will captivate you from start to finish. Did you know that this village was the inspiration for the icy kingdom in the movie Frozen? It's not hard to see why... It's straight out of a fairytale!

Accompanied by our guide, we'll take a guided tour covering 700 years of history, strolling through the Alpine alleyways that have witnessed great tragedies and admiring the architectural details of the houses and the church.

You'll then have around 1.5 hours of free time to grab lunch and continue exploring the town.

To round off the visit, if you're travelling in summer, we'll say goodbye to Hallstatt with a pleasant boat ride on the lake. At other times of the year, we'll visit the Bone House, located in the Chapel of St. Michael. This fascinating attraction, known for its collection of over 600 artistically painted skulls, dates back to the 12th century.

Finally, we'll head back by bus to the Austrian capital, arriving in Vienna around 13 hours later.

Hallstatt and Melk Abbey Day Trip

For this option, on our way to Hallstatt, we'll stop at Melk Abbey to take photos and admire the grandeur of one of Austria’s most iconic landmarks. This Benedictine monastery sits on the banks of the Danube River and was founded in the 11th century.

The route then continues to Hallstatt, where you'll have 2.5 hours of free time to explore this charming village at your own pace. This option includes a digital audio guide in English for the tour.

In the afternoon, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Vienna.
