On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the port of Vigo and welcome you on board for a truly special voyage. Do you like octopus? Then you're in luck, because it's the star of the show today. Let's set sail!
The boat will glide into the Vigo estuary, sailing past beaches, mountains, and a mosaic of floating mussel-farming platforms. Along the way, you'll see how the interaction between Atlantic waters and river currents creates a highly productive marine ecosystem that is the backbone of local fishing activity.
As we sail, the on-board entertainment will begin, with activities inspired by Galician folklore. We'll pick up the basics of traditional dance and get actively involved in the festive traditions historically tied to the fishing communities of the region.
Halfway through the trip comes the moment everyone's been waiting for: a tasting of Ons octopus, prepared using the traditional method, served with Galician wine, water, or soft drinks. Did you know that octopus destined for consumption in Galicia is traditionally frozen first to break down the muscle fibres and improve its texture after cooking? One of a kind!
After 1.5 hours on the water, we'll say our goodbyes back at the starting point. See you next time!
