Private day trip from Yerevan exploring Armenian history, visiting Lake Sevan, the monasteries of Sevanavank and Hayravank, and the ancient cemetery of Noraduz.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Yerevan and leave the capital behind to begin this private day trip to some of Armenia’s most breathtaking sights. Let’s go!
First, we’ll head to Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, covering an area of over 1,200 square kilometers (463 sq mi). Here, we’ll enjoy this breathtaking natural landscape, surrounded by the deep blue waters of the lake.
Next, we’ll visit Sevanavank Monastery, located on a small peninsula offering spectacular views of Lake Sevan. Then we’ll continue to Hayravank Monastery, built atop a rock, also next to the lake.
Afterwards, we’ll stop at a nearby restaurant for about 1 hour to enjoy some traditional Armenian cuisine and recharge.
With energy restored, we’ll visit the Noraduz Cemetery, home to the largest collection of khachkars (carved stone crosses) in the world. Walking among these centuries-old monuments gives you a glimpse into Armenia’s rich history, symbolism, and traditions.
Finally, we’ll head back to the starting point, where we’ll wrap up this 7 to 8-hour day trip.
