Visit the incredible Borobudur Temple, considered one of the wonders of the world, and explore the mysterious volcanic area of the Dieng Plateau on our private day trip from Yogyakarta.
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Yogyakarta to set off on an excursion to the Borobudur Temple and the Dieng Plateau!
We'll start with a three-hour drive to the Dieng Plateau, located 6,561 ft (2,000 meters) above sea level. Upon arrival, we'll visit Arjuna, the oldest Hindu temple in Java, a testament to Indonesia's rich cultural heritage.
Then, we'll pass through an area of volcanic craters, still active, which you'll be able to enter. Of course, we'll also see the beautiful color-changing waters of Telaga Warna - sometimes bright turquoise, other times white or green, depending on the sulfur deposits in the lake.
After this walk, we'll head to the town of Wonosobo, where you'll have free time for lunch on your own. Before returning, we'll visit the Borobudur Temple, where we'll visit the first level of the monument while we explore the history of what is listed as the largest Buddhist temple in the world.
Finally, we'll head back to your hotel in Yogyakarta, arriving 12 hours after the initial pickup.
