Fresnillo & Plateros Excursion
We'll leave at the time of your choice from your hotel in Zacatecas towards Fresnillo, considered the mining capital of Mexico.
Upon arrival, we'll begin learning about illustrious historical figures from Fresnillo, such as the painter Francisco Goitia and the composer Tomás Méndez. Then we'll enter the Proaño mine, one of the most profitable silver mines in the world.
We'll learn all kinds of interesting facts about the mine and, at the end of the visit, we'll leave Fresnillo behind and head to the nearby town of Plateros. In this picturesque town, we'll visit the Sanctuary of the Niño de Atocha, one of the most important centers of Catholic veneration in inland Mexico.
Such is the fervor generated by the carving of the Santo Niño de Atocha that it not only receives pilgrims from Zacatecas and other Mexican states but also from other countries. Why is it so highly revered, you ask? We'll find out during the tour!
Finally, from Plateros, we'll return to Zacatecas, where arrival at your hotel is scheduled for four hours after pickup.
