Day 1: Accra - Cape Coast - Elmina
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Accra and embark on a panoramic tour of the capital of Ghana. Our first stop will be Independence Square, where we'll see the great arch commemorating the proclamation of Ghana as a free state in 1957.
The tour of the Ghanaian capital will continue to Kwame Nkrumah Park, which is dominated by the colossal mausoleum of Ghana's first president. Inside this memorial space, there is also a museum where you'll see photos and personal objects of the Ghanaian leader.
Next, we'll drive to the Cape Coast. You'll have an hour at leisure to enjoy the delicacies of this city on the Ghanaian coast, where the fish dishes are a must. After lunch, we'll visit Cape Coast Castle. In this fortress, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll see a curious portico called the "door of no return".
From Cape Coast, we'll finally drive to a hotel in the coastal town of Elmina, where you'll have the rest of the day free to enjoy the beaches.
Day 2: Elmina - Kakum National Park - Accra
After breakfast at the hotel in Elmina, we'll head towards Kakum National Park. In this protected natural area, one of the most outstanding in Ghana, we'll see green landscapes of forests and rainforests.
We'll take a short walk through the National Park to enjoy the views from the Kakum suspension bridge, the only one of its kind in Africa. From this platform, we'll be able to spot the monkeys and even the elephants that inhabit this part of the continent.
The tour will end by returning to Accra.
