At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Amritsar to start a magical evening and attend the famous Palki Sahib ceremony at the Golden Temple!
Once we arrive at the shrine, we'll tell you some interesting facts about this spiritual center of the Sikh religion. For example, did you know that it's an important place of pilgrimage? The faithful of this religion must come here at least once in their lifetime.
As the sun sets and it gets darker, you'll be amazed by the colors and lights that adorn the temple. Inside the complex, the ceremony will start and we'll see the famous Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs!
Every evening, devotees carry this book from the main shrine to the Akal Takht Sahib, the inner sanctum, on a golden palanquin covered with flowers. We'll also hear the typical chanting of the Gurbani song—it'll make your hair stand on end!
This same ceremony is repeated every morning before sunrise, and the Guru Granth Sahib is also brought back to the main shrine until sunset.
Finally, after 30 minutes, we'll take you back to your hotel in Amritsar to end this amazing experience.
