Join us to discover the volcanic caves of Terceira on this day trip from Angra do Heroísmo. We'll visit Algar do Carvão, Gruta do Natal, Furnas do Enxofre, and Lagoa das Patas.
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and set off to the volcanic caves of Terceira. Are you ready to discover the hidden underworld on the island?
Our first stop will be the Gruta do Natal, a striking gallery formed by lava tubes. In addition to exploring this underground passage, we'll learn about the endemic flora that surrounds it, including species such as laurel, moss, and holly.
Then, we'll head to the Algar do Carvão, a true natural wonder located within the Guilherme Moniz caldera. We'll enter this volcanic chimney to admire its impressive subterranean lake of crystal-clear waters.
Our tour will then take us to the Furnas do Enxofre, a geothermal field where we'll get a close-up look at fumaroles and sulfurous vapors. Our last stop will be the idyllic Lagoa das Patas, a pond surrounded by lush cedar trees.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel, ending the tour after 3 hours.
