Discover the flavours of Peru on this food tour of Arequipa. Visit its markets and restaurants to taste its most typical dishes, drinks and desserts!
Arequipa Food Tour
We'll meet at 9 am at your hotel in Arequipa and head into the historic centre of the city to soak up Peru's most deeply rooted traditions. What better way to do this than with a gastronomic tour? Let's get started!
We'll walk through the old Arequipa neighbourhoods, full of narrow streets and colonial houses, until we reach the traditional market of San Camilo. Once there, we'll stroll among its food stalls to discover the most sought-after products in Arequipa's kitchens. In addition, we'll select some typical products to cook with the help of a local chef.
The food tour will continue to the restaurant, where we'll receive an introduction to Arequipa's gastronomy from the chef and put on our aprons. Let's get to work!
We'll begin this culinary adventure by learning the secrets of traditional Peruvian cuisine while we prepare some typical dishes such as rocoto relleno, ocopa arequipeña and solterito de queso.
Once the cooking experience is over, we'll taste the delicacies we have prepared while enjoying the open air.
Finally, we'll go to a wine and spirits establishment to learn about the preparation of different cocktails and to taste the famous pisco, the traditional Peruvian liquor.
The tour will end by taking you back to the hotel at 5 pm.
Pick up is included at hotels located within a 1 km radius from the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your hotel is outside this area, you should come to the meeting point in the Plaza de Armas at the indicated time.
