Tour Details
After being picked up from your hotel at the designated time, you'll begin your cultural road trip of Bali from Batubulan to Kintamani. Explore the island from north to south and experience different aspects of Balinese life and culture.
Your first stop will be the village of Batubulan, where your immersion into Balinese culture will begin with a performance of Barong and Kris, one of the island's most famous traditional dances. The dance-drama tells a classical 12th-century tale of good versus evil and demonstrates not only the spirituality of Balinese culture. but also its creativity. We'll admire the ornate and colourful costumes worn by the dancers!
Experience day-to-day life in a tiny Balinese village visiting a typical home in Singapadu, before heading to Bedulu, where you'll visit Goa Gajah, also known as the Elephant Cave. This 9th-century temple is an important pilgrimage site in Bali, featuring both Hindu and Buddhist religious symbolism.
Throughout your journey, you'll be able to admire the island's stunning tropical paradise scenery. A particular highlight, however, is seeing the sloping rice terraces in Tegalalang. These ancient paddy fields follow the curve of the rolling hills and their completely sustainable water management system, used since the 9th century, is an amazing feat of ancient engineering.
In Sebatu, you'll visit the Pura Tirta Empul, a water temple built next to a holy spring. Balinese Hindus bathe in these sacred waters for ritual purification, believing them to have healing properties.
Driving past sprawling coffee and mandarin orange plantations, you'll finally arrive at Kintamani, a village located over 4,500 ft (1,400 m) above sea level. From here, enjoy spectacular panoramic views over Mount Batur, an active volcano, and the stunning Lake Batur which lies in its caldera.
After an incredible day experiencing the best of Bali, you'll be dropped off at your hotel in Bali after a total of 9 hours.
