Follow in the footsteps of the most internationally renowned Latin artist on this Shakira tour of Barranquilla. We’ll visit her home, school, and giant statue!
We’ll start the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Barranquilla and heading to the Shakira Monument. Next to this impressive metal sculpture on the Gran Malecón, we’ll uncover the secrets behind its design and explore the early musical influences that shaped her unique style. It’s undoubtedly the perfect moment for the first photo of the day.
From there, we’ll walk to the heart of her roots in the El Limoncito neighborhood. We’ll stroll through the streets where a young Shakira dreamed of world stages, passing by the house where she spent her childhood. Here we’ll share anecdotes about her cultural heritage, her early compositions, and those local festivals that served as a barometer of her budding talent.
Our route will continue to the Santa Mónica Clinic, the place where the story began on February 2, 1977, and then we’ll head to La Enseñanza School. At this school, we’ll explore her school years, recalling how she participated in every artistic event and the people who, from the very beginning, knew her voice would go far.
To understand her culinary and cultural roots, we’ll stop at Biblos Restaurant, a key spot where the artist discovered her calling and kept her Lebanese heritage alive. We’ll follow her media trail by visiting the former studios of Telecaribe, the regional channel where, as a child, she learned to work the cameras and win over television audiences for the first time.
We’ll conclude this emotional journey at the legendary Romelio Martínez Stadium. This venue witnessed her first major concert in front of a massive crowd, a historic event where she shared the microphone with the charismatic Joe Arroyo.
We’ll recall that duet that brought together two giants of Caribbean music before wrapping up this 4-hour Shakira tour.
