On this trip to the Los Haitises National Park you'll get to cruise along Samaná Bay and discover one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic.
We'll pick you up from your hotel and set off for the Los Haitises National Park. Let's go!
As soon as we arrive, we'll get into a boat and travel through part of this subtropical rainforest environment. During the boat trip, we'll observe the mangrove areas and the impressive biodiversity that this entails.
After gliding through these inland channels, we'll go out into the open sea and look out for the karstic mogotes that rise up in the middle of the water. These mounds are the perfect habitat for different birds such as pelicans, gannets and herons.
Next, we'll have the opportunity to see one of the caves that are tucked away in this idyllic place. Inside, you'll find petroglyphs left behind by indigenous groups. Be careful outside, as you may come across a Boa constrictor endemic to this area!
Following that, we'll head to Hotel Paraíso Caño Hondo, a hotel complex surrounded by nature, where there are several natural pools fed by the Jivales River. Fancy a dip?
Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious Dominican buffet lunch that also includes drinks such as soft drinks, water, and natural passion fruit, tamarind, and cherry juices. With your energy renewed, we'll take an off-roading tour to the top of Redonda Mountain to take in the jungle panorama from above.
At the end of the day, we'll make our way back to your hotel, where we should arrive between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm.
This day trip includes pickup from hotels in La Romana and Bayahibe. Pickup at hotels in Bayahibe will be from 5 am, and at the hotels in La Romana from 5:30 am.
Please note that if you're staying at the Bahia Principe La Romana hotel, you'll be required to pay an additional supplement of 20USD per person. This is because your hotel is located in the town of San Pedro de Macorís, which is outside the usual area covered by our pickup routes.
