Beijing Food Tour
Tour Details
Ready to sample some of the Chinese capital’s traditional specialties? We'll meet at Exit E of the Nanluoguxiang metro station to begin our food tour of Beijing. Let’s discover its traditional cuisine!
First, we’ll take a stroll through the hutongs, the narrow, picturesque alleys of the Nanluoguxiang neighborhood, where we’ll see its famous red lanterns. In this area, we’ll stop to sample Beijing street food. Among the highlights are dumplings and Beijing’s traditional drinkable yogurt.
Next, we’ll continue strolling through the neighborhood until we reach the area where Bell Tower Square and Drum Tower are located. Did you know that these ancient watchtowers in Beijing’s Old City were used to mark the time?
We’ll learn about their history as we head to a popular spot near the Drum Tower. There, we’ll enjoy a hot pot filled with tender meats and fresh vegetables. While taking in the beautiful views of the tower, we’ll pair this flavorful broth with a Chinese beer.
After this delicious meal, we’ll take a stroll down Yandai Xiejie, Tobacco Pipe Alley. Do you know why it’s called that? We’ll discuss its name and the eateries found in this sloping alley lined with traditional shops and red lanterns.
Next, we’ll cross the Yinding Bridge to reach the lively bar district of Houhai. After a 3.5-hour tour, we’ll wrap up the tour in this neighborhood, where you can continue to enjoy China’s famous cuisine on your own.
