Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at a central location in Bergen, and we'll begin this guided tour of Bergen to discover the main attractions of this Norwegian city. Let's go!
During the tour, we'll travel to the origins of Bergen to learn about the history and evolution of the city, from the Middle Ages, passing through its "Golden Age," when Bergen was the capital of the country, to today.
Afterwards, we'll head to the Bryggen neighbourhood, a World Heritage-listed city due to its historic buildings. Did you know that it once served as the headquarters for the Hanseatic League? Incredible!
We'll also visit the Bergenhus fortress, one of the best-conserved castles in the country, a former royal residence, and St. Mary's Church. This church is the oldest building in Bergen and boasts a precious golden altarpiece.
Then, we'll stroll along the city's main streets, where we'll see how Bergen has evolved and changed throughout the centuries.
Our tour will continue at the Fishmarket. Here, we'll admire the Nordic architecture, typical of these countries, where the houses are painted in a myriad of different eye-catching colours. Very close by is the popular street of Skostredet, perfect for discovering the city's gastronomic culture.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes after 2 hours together.
