Guided day tour (only available from May 1 to September 30)
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Strandkaien Terminal in Bergen Harbour to start an extraordinary tour, unveiling the best of the Norwegian fjords all in one day. Prepare for a journey through narrow valleys, emerald waters, and steep hillsides, immersing ourselves in a World Heritage Site!
First, we'll walk to Bergen Train Station to get the train to Vossevangen. From there, we'll drive by bus to Gudvangen. Nestled at the end of one of Norway's most picturesque fjords, the Nærøy—affectionately known as the Fjord of Dreams—this small Viking heritage village awaits our exploration.
Now for one of the most anticipated moments of the day–the cruise! Settle in for a delightful 2-hour boat ride on the Nærøyfjorden, one of the narrowest fjords in the world.
We'll sail through mountains over 1,700 meters (5,577 feet) high, countless waterfalls cascading down, and charming villages with wooden houses dotting the landscape. Words fall short of capturing the grandeur of this breathtaking scenery protected by UNESCO.
Then, we'll dock in Flåm and leave you between 30 and 55 minutes of free time, depending on the season, to have lunch and continue exploring the area. You can visit the Railway Museum and stroll along the harbor before starting the final leg of the Norwegian Fjords tour.
Next on our adventure is the awe-inspiring Flåm train, renowned as one of the most impressive railway lines globally. Throughout the 50-minute journey, take in the breathtaking views of the Norwegian mountains. We'll even make a brief stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall for the perfect photo op!
Our journey will culminate at Myrdal Station, where we'll board a regular train bound for Bergen. After an enriching 10-hour excursion, we'll conclude our adventure back at Bergen railroad station.
Self-guided day tour
If you choose this option, we'll meet at Bergen's railway station. There, you'll board a train that will take us from Bergen to Vossevangen. The ride, about 2 hours, will allow you to cross fjords and lakes surrounded by the lush vegetation that spreads across the Norwegian hills.
At Vossevangen train station, the bus will be waiting for you to take you to Gudvangen. In this picturesque town, you'll board an electric boat and sail for 2 hours through the Norwegian fjords to Flåm.
In Flåm, you'll take a train back to Myrdal. On this train journey, you'll enjoy beautiful scenery, including the Kjosfossen waterfall.
Finally, at Myrdal station, you'll have to change carriages to take the train back to Bergen.
Itinerary Changes
During the summer months, the bus that will take us from Vossevangen to Gudvangen will also travel along the Stalheimskleiva. This stretch of road, 1.5 kilometers (0.93 miles) long, stands out for its incredible views of the Nærøy Valley and its spectacular panoramic viewpoint.
