Los Charcos de Damajagua are one of the main attractions in Puerto Plata. On this day trip, you can visit these waterfalls and take a refreshing dip in the natural pools. It'll be an exciting day!
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time, we'll travel by minibus to the outskirts of the city. We'll make a 12.42 mi (20 km) journey south toward one of the most amazing natural areas in the north of the Dominican Republic: the famous 27 Charcos de Damajagua (27 Waterfalls of Damajagua).
The waterfalls actually form a spectacular set of natural pools. The gigantic waterfalls have made open-air caves where you can swim, jump, and even slide down a series of natural slides that are great fun for both adults and children.
In one of these 27 pools, we'll see the "La Tinajita" waterfall. Have you ever wondered what the origin of this particular name is? You'll have to wait until the day of the trip to find out! We'll also visit the mysterious "La Virgen" waterfall. According to an ancient legend that dates back to the time of the Taino Indians... How will the story end?
After exploring the different pools, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch. With our batteries recharged, we'll say goodbye to the waterfalls and set off for the Imbert Falls. On the way there, we'll visit a renowned plantation in the Dominican Republic and learn about the local cuisine.
To finish, we'll visit a petrified woodcraft shop—You'll love it! We'll then return to the minibus and head back to the different hotels in Puerto Plata, where we'll arrive after 4 to 7 hours.
