On this horseback ride through Sette Fratelli Park, we’ll experience Sardinia’s rural equestrian tradition along ancient trails with views of the Gulf of Cagliari. Ready to fall even more in love with southern Sardinia?
Activity Details
We’ll meet at Via della Begonie, northeast of Cagliari. Once ready, we’ll head into the stables where our noble four-legged companions await us. Ready to begin the horseback ride through the hills of Cagliari?
As soon as we begin, we’ll feel the calm rhythm of the horses along paths that will lead us to the foothills of Mount Sette Fratelli, one of the best-preserved areas in southern Sardinia. From the very start, we’ll be surrounded by forest trails winding along the slopes of the massif.
During the route, we’ll observe the Mediterranean scrubland, a dense and aromatic ecosystem where we’ll recognize species such as myrtle, strawberry trees, mastic, and wild olive trees. All these native plants are accompanied by centuries-old holm oaks that provide shade and coolness along the path. In spring, the landscape is dotted with wildflowers, and in summer, the deep greens contrast with the sky.
With a bit of attention, we may spot birds of prey soaring over the valleys. We’ll help you interpret the surroundings and understand the ecological importance of this park, key to preserving endemic species on the island.
At certain points, we’ll reach higher areas where the landscape opens up with panoramic views of the Gulf of Cagliari. This will undoubtedly be a visual reward that adds a special touch to the horseback ride.
After 2 hours, we’ll return to the meeting point, where we’ll say our goodbyes. See you next time!
