Tour Details
The south coast of Wales is a place of great beauty, full of cliffs, beaches that rank among the most beautiful in the world, and a fascinating history. One of the best ways to discover it is on this day trip to the Gower Peninsula and Mumbles from Cardiff. Are you ready to explore the United Kingdom’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Let’s go!
At the appointed time, we’ll meet at the entrance to the Anglican church Eglwys Dewis Sant. Once everyone has gathered, we’ll leave Cardiff behind and head to Swansea, an hour’s drive away. Upon arrival, we’ll stop at the Swansea marina, the perfect spot to immerse ourselves in the history of Wales. We’ll tour Swansea’s Maritime Quarter, located next to the bay and the city’s marina. Here, we’ll see how the old docks have been transformed into cultural attractions, such as Swansea’s various art galleries, the National Waterfront Museum, and the square named after Dylan Thomas, Wales’s most famous poet.
After exploring Swansea, we’ll head to Mumbles, a charming coastal town known as the gateway to the Gower Peninsula. We’ll visit this historic town, where its Victorian pier, cafes, and traditional pubs will captivate you from start to finish. You’ll also love the peaceful local atmosphere, which will make it perfectly clear why Mumbles is one of the British people’s favorite destinations.
Before leaving Mumbles, we’ll give you 1 hour of free time to grab lunch at one of its restaurants. With your energy recharged, we’ll continue our journey along the South Wales coast. During the trip, we’ll admire the iconic Mumbles Lighthouse and gradually make our way toward the Wales Coast Path. There, we’ll take an unforgettable hike that will offer unbeatable views of Langland Bay and Caswell Bay, teeming with cliffs, sea caves, and beaches of unique beauty.
To round out this tour of South Wales, we’ll head to Rhossili Bay, considered the crown jewel of the Gower Peninsula. We’ll explore the area with a walk along its cliffs and take in the best possible views of Rhossili Beach. It has been voted the best beach in the United Kingdom, the best in Europe, and even one of the best in the world on numerous occasions!
Finally, with our cameras full of memories, we’ll return to Cardiff and say our goodbyes at the central train station 8 hours later.
