Colonial churches in charming villages, artwork by indigenous communities and deep canyons await on our 4-day tour of Chihuahua and El Fuerte. We'll combine nature, culture and history on our unforgettable journey through the Sierra Madre on the Chepe Express.
Tour Details
Day 1: Chihuahua - Creel
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua and take our bus to Creel. Along the way, we'll make a stop at the Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc, where we'll visit the regional museum, the cheese factory Américas, and a local bakery to try some typical local food if you wish.
Next, we'll take you to the hotel and then you'll have the rest of the day free to enjoy this picturesque town, which was founded in 1907. We recommend visiting the Church of Cristo Rey, buying some handicrafts made by the Rarámuri Indigenous community and admiring the views of the surrounding environment.
The day will come to an end at the hotel in Creel where you can get some rest.
Day 2: Creel - Divisadero
After having breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to Divisadero, which we'll reach after an hour's drive.
Once we reach the hotel in Divisadero, you'll have a chance to grab a bite to eat. Then, we'll head to the beautiful Sierra Tarahumara and explore one of its main charms. The Copper Canyon awaits! We'll take you to the Copper Canyon Adventure Park so you can make the most of your visit to this incredible system of deep canyons. Over the course of 4 hours here, you'll be able to walk through this beautiful natural area, cross a suspension bridge, and even take a cable car ride.
We'll end the day resting at the hotel in Divisadero and enjoying the wonderful sunset that the Copper Canyon gives us. Sleep tight!
Day 3: Divisadero - El Fuerte
Once we've had breakfast, we'll set off for one of the most exciting parts of our tour. We'll make our way to the train station so we can board the famous Chepe Express and cross different bridges while looking out at unforgettable views of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Don't forget to bring your camera!
The Chepe Express will take us to El Fuerte, which is one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Villages) due to its important historic and cultural value. You're sure to love its cobbled streets, small colonial church, handicraft market and numerous other charms. Here, you'll also have the chance to try some of the local cuisine by grabbing some lunch.
We'll end the day by heading back to the hotel in El Fuerte to rest.
Day 4: El Fuerte - Los Mochis
After our last tasty breakfast together, you'll have some free time to explore and grab some lunch. Then, we'll take you to your hotel or the airport in Los Mochis, where we'll say our goodbyes around 3 pm after an incredible 4-day adventure together.
