Cochabamba Guided Tour
We'll meet at 2 pm in the central Plaza de Colón to begin our guided tour of Cochabamba. After admiring the square, the beautiful El Hospicio church and the Colón building, we'll set off on our walking tour of the city.
As we walk, we'll marvel at the murals dedicated to the women of Cochabamba, who performed an important act of bravery at the beginning of the 19th century: an army of women determined to protect their territory. We'll find out all about them during this part of the tour. Afterwards, we'll visit the well-known murals "Ángel Andino" and "Tinku Callejero".
Next, we'll head to the 25 de Mayo market, where you'll be able to see the lifestyles and day-to-day lives of the inhabitants of this region first-hand. Nearby we'll try some phisara or pisara, a quinoa-based dish with fresh cheese and potatoes.
The tour will then take us to the Plaza 14 de Septiembre square, where there are many buildings for us to admire, such as the Catedral de San Sebastián, a 17th-century cathedral with a magnificent tower and a large rose window. As we admire the administrative buildings we'll take a moment to explain the meaning of the Bolivian coat of arms and flag.
The guided tour of Cochabamba ends in the Plaza 14 de Septiembre at 4:30 pm after a two-and-a-half hour walk through the city.
