Incallajta Fort Tour
The tour starts at 8 am where you'll be picked up from your hotel and soon after we'll set off from Cochabamba to the high valley where we'll cross the Andean plains and pass the Angostura Lagoon, a huge and impressive artificial lake used by the locals as a recreational area.
We'll arrive at the fort of Incallajta, truly one of the most emblematic archaeological sites in Bolivia. Fun fact..Did you know that "incallajta" means "city of the Inca". Incallajta is part of the Inca Axis, a historical route that connects the main areas of the Inca civilization which include: Machu Picchu in Peru and Samaipata and Incallajta in Bolivia. Samaipata was the most important city of Collasuyo, one of the four parts into which the Inca Empire, also called Tahuantinsuyo which was later divided.
During our historical adventure, we'll be able to take a magical stroll along the Inca roads and the stone buildings which have been preserved. We'll visit the famous squares, courtyards, and temples, such as the Kallanka, and at the same time learn everything there is to know about the history of the most powerful empire of pre-Columbian America. Near its end, we'll enjoy a nice picnic lunch and then continue exploring the archaeological complex so that all will be able to capture the special moments by taking pictures of these ancient ruins.
After the visit to the fort, we'll conclude the tour by returning to Cochabamba where you'll arrive at your hotel at 5 pm.
