Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Colima and head to the archaeological site of La Campana, a 10-minute drive from the city centre. Ready to discover the region's ancient past? Let's go!
As soon as we enter La Campana, we'll walk among pyramid bases, ceremonial courtyards and ancient water channels that still amaze us with their engineering. Did you know that this place had the most complex hydraulic system in the region? During the hour-long visit, each stone will tell us about the daily life, beliefs and splendour of that time.
Later, we'll head to the city centre, where we'll visit the Colima Regional History Museum, located in an elegant late 19th-century building. During a tour lasting between 1 and 1.5 hours, its rooms will offer us a chronological journey from pre-Hispanic cultures to the contemporary era.
Among its display cases, we'll discover Colima clay figures, ceramic pieces shaped like animals, and the famous Colima dogs, also known as dancing dogs. Why were they considered guardians of the underworld? We'll tell you!
Afterwards, we'll embark on a 40-minute journey south of Colima to reach the Póksika ecotourism centre in the Coquimatlán area.
There, we'll enjoy 3 hours of nature alongside the murmur of the Peñitas River, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. You can enjoy a swim and, when you get hungry, we'll have lunch consisting of seafood, rice, salad and lemonade. What a way to end the day!
Finally, we'll head back to your hotel, where we'll say goodbye 9 hours after pickup.
