Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel, we’ll head north through the state of Colima in search of the Pueblo Mágico of Comala, also known as the White Town of America. Ready to discover its beauty?
After a 30-minute drive, we’ll arrive at the Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo University Museum. There, we’ll discover illustrations that traveled around the world, the collection of pre-Hispanic art that the artist himself gathered over more than 40 years, and an architecture that combines rustic elegance with the serenity of the Colima countryside.
Later, in Comala’s historic center, we’ll admire the white façades of the town’s houses. We’ll walk along its cobbled streets and reach the main square, the heart of local life. There, we’ll be surrounded by arcades filled with music, handicrafts, and the unique aromas of local cuisine.
In front of us, we’ll see the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, a neoclassical-style church and a symbol of Comala’s identity. Did you know that the writer Juan Rulfo was inspired by this town to create the universe of Pedro Páramo?
The tour of Comala will continue at Ponche Don Tavo, where we’ll taste an artisan drink in different flavors that reveal a centuries-old tradition. At La Guadalupana bakery, the aroma of freshly baked bread will sharpen our appetite even more, and we’ll be able to try a typical local bread.
To end the day trip on a high note, we’ll head to a restaurant in the center to enjoy a lunch made up of regional dishes. It'll be delicious!
Finally, we’ll head back to your hotel, where we’ll say goodbye 6 hours after pickup.
