Activity Details

Ready to discover the rich gastronomy of Cuenca? At the designated time, we'll meet at Plaza Mayor, in front of the Cathedral fountain, and kick off a comprehensive tour sampling some of the most iconic dishes of this Castilian city.

Once everyone's together, we'll start walking toward the plazas of La Merced and Mangana. Along the way, we'll uncover how the different cultures and religions that once inhabited the area shaped Cuenca's cuisine. To bring it all to life, we'll step into our first restaurant, where you'll discover the famous ajoarriero paired with a local wine.

With that delicious taste still lingering, we'll continue to Restaurant Savbia on Calle San Pedro, located in a truly spectacular setting! There we'll taste one of Cuenca's most iconic dishes: morteruelo. If you're visiting in summer, the tasting will take place on the restaurant's terrace, with stunning views over the Huécar gorge.

Our next stop is Restaurant Raff, housed in a former stable. At this well-known restaurant, we'll try a dish that'll surprise you from start to finish, one of the best broths in the area!

Finally, we'll head to Restaurant CasaManzar, located in the former home of José Luis Perales, for the perfect finale to this gastronomic journey: an exquisite wine paired with a tapa. We'll wrap up with a toast of resolí, Cuenca's most iconic liqueur.

The tour ends 3.5 hours later on Calle San Pedro. Until next time!
