Spectacular Andean landscapes, mythical Inca ruins and vibrant cultural tradition: discover Peru's incredible Sacred Valley on this day trip from Cusco. Visit Awana Kancha, Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo.
Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour Itinerary
On the day of your tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel around 8:30 am and leave Cusco behind, delving into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, venerated by the Pre-Columbian Empire for its climate and rich soil. To this day, the best corn in the country is produced here.
Driving through beautiful mountainous landscapes, you'll reach your first stop: Awana Kancha. This "living museum" is a hillside farm, home to llamas and alpacas, where diverse local communities meet to create and sell their traditional handmade textiles. The perfect place to buy some souvenirs from your trip!
You'll then continue on your route to the village of Pisac, where you'll be immersed in the history and culture of this region of Peru. Discover first-hand the traditional customs of the locals; explore the artisanal market and visit the breathtaking hillside agricultural terraces built by the Incas and still in use today, hundreds of years later.
Follow the course of the Vilcanota River through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, arriving at Urubamba, a small town where you'll stop for lunch of delicious local specialities.
After eating, you'll make your way to the final stop on your sightseeing tour: the town and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Here, you'll see the fortified defences used during the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire; the mythical temples and the agricultural terraces that cling to the hillsides. Climbing up to the highest point in the town, you'll enjoy spectacular views over the Inca ruins and the surrounding area.
At the end of an incredible day, you'll head back to Cusco, where you'll be dropped back off at your hotel at around 6 pm.
