Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Denver to kick off this private day trip to two of the must-see sites in Colorado. Ready? Let's go!
First, we'll visit the Garden of the Gods, located 1 hour away from Denver. Once we reach this natural park that stretches over 1,000 acres (404 hectares), we'll start an easy 1-hour hike to discover its famous red sandstone rock formations up close.
During the hike, we'll explain the geological significance of this area in Colorado, as the origin of its formations dates back thousands of years, even before human existence. This site was also considered a spiritual place for the Ute native tribes.
Then, we'll take you to Manitou Springs, a picturesque mountain town, where we'll stop for 1 hour so you can enjoy a dish of the local cuisine on your own.
After lunch, we'll hike toward Pikes Peak, also known as America's Mountain, one of the most climbed peaks in the world. We'll dedicate 3 hours to exploring this stunning site until we reach its summit, 14,114 ft (4,302 m) tall.
Throughout our journey, we'll make several stops at the viewpoints to admire the breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains. In fact, these scenic views inspired the famous poem by Katherine Lee Bates, America the Beautiful, which was also used as lyrics for the renowned patriotic song of the same name.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to the starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes 8 to 9 hours after.
