Charming villages, historic landmarks and spectacular natural landscapes: discover the breathtaking beauty of Ireland's west coast on this tour of Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way from Galway

Connemara & Wild Atlantic Way Tour

On the morning of the tour, we'll meet up at the entrance to Kinlay Hostel in Galway and board a bus ready to set off on our adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way. You'll be captivated by the incredible beauty of Ireland's landscapes!

Travelling west along Galway Bay, we'll pass through the picturesque Irish towns of BarnaFurboSpiddal and Inverin. Full of thatched cottages and dry stone walls and surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes, these villages offer a beautiful view of the Connemara region!

We'll make our first stop at Pearse's Cottage on the shores of Lake Oiriulach, where we'll learn all about the history and life of Patrick Pearse, an Irish poet, writer and political activist who promoted the country's independence. As well as visiting the museum, you'll have the opportunity to take excellent photographs of the lake views.

Continuing onwards, we'll visit one of Connemara's hidden gems, Bothar na Scragoige. After admiring the wild beauty of this bog area, we'll head to the quaint coastal town of Roundstone and the nearby Dog's Bay Beach.

Following the Wild Atlantic Way, we'll pass through Clifden, the capital of the Connemara region, and reach the Sky Road, a twisting mountain road which offers incomparable views of the ocean from its privileged vantage points. You'll then have the choice to hike around Connemara National Park or to visit Kylemore Abbey: in both you'll have two hours of free time to explore at your leisure.

After meeting back up again, we'll cross through the impressive Twelve Bens and Maumturk mountains and the Inagh Valley. We'll then pass the Connemara Giant and visit the famous Quite Man Bridge before arriving back in Galway at 6:30 pm.
