Chamonix Tour

Chamonix is one of the world’s most famous locations for mountain sports. Discover this Alpine town on this tour and enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Blanc from Aiguille du Midi.

Itinerary

After meeting up at the central bus station (Gare Routiere) in Geneva, we head to Chamonix. After an hour and a half’s drive, we will reach the French mountain town that, for more than 100 years, has been one of the most important mountaineering and winter sports centers in the world.

On our walking tour through Chamonix, we will discover the town’s main attractions, such as Saint Michel’s Church and the statue of Jacques Balmat, the first mountaineer to reach the summit of Mount Blanc. During the tour, we will hear all about the history of Chamonix and its evolution since becoming a key Alpine tourist location in the 19th Century.

When we finish the tour, you will have free time to enjoy Chamonix at your leisure. You can explore the quaint streets of wooden houses, discover the delicious alpine gastronomy, and lose yourself among the many shops at this world-famous ski resort.

We return to Geneva around 6:15 pm.

Broaden your experience

If you want to discover other attractions in Chamonix, you can add more options to your trip.

Chamonix + Aiguille du Midi

This option includes a return cable car trip to the summit of Aiguille du Midi, which you can do at any moment you want during your stay at Chamonix.

From the panoramic viewpoint at the summit of Aiguille du Midi, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Alps. Depending on the weather conditions, you can also access the “Step Into the Void” skywalk. The glass panel floor gives the impression you are walking on air over 3000 feet high up. Are you brave enough!

  • This tour crosses the border into France, so it is essential to bring your passport or ID card (and a visa should this be necessary).
  • The tour takes place every day. However, we cannot guarantee that the cable car and mountain train will be operating, as it depends on the weather conditions.
