Matanuska River Rafting
Activity Details
Would you like to embark on an adventure in Alaska's untamed wilderness? If so, at the indicated time, we'll meet at 38100 Glenn Highway. There, we'll go over a brief introduction and kick off our rafting experience on the Matanuska River.
We'll drive to the banks of the Matanuska River. Upon arrival, we'll provide you with the necessary equipment and a technical briefing to help us get in tune with the environment. We’ll practice paddling techniques and review safety rules, with a special focus on what to do if someone falls into the water. Can you feel the adrenaline already?
Once ready, we'll navigate the Lions Head section, where we'll pass through Class III and IV rapids. We'll need to read the current, enter the waves at a good angle, dodge the rocks, and take advantage of calmer sections to regroup before the next set of rapids.
After finishing at the exit point, we'll return to the original meeting spot to change and wrap up the activity. We'll say our goodbyes after a total of 3 hours.
