Tequila & Guachimontones Tour + 3 Nights Accommodation
Tour Details
Day 1: Guadalajara – Tequila
At the agreed time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel or from Guadalajara Airport to begin this journey through the heart of the state of Jalisco. First, we’ll head toward the Magical Town of Tequila, surrounded by extensive blue agave fields, a landscape declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During the 1-hour journey, we’ll enjoy a light onboard lunch that includes a grilled chicken sandwich, fruit, and juice or a soft drink.
Once in Tequila, we’ll visit a traditional distillery, where we’ll learn firsthand about the production process of this iconic Mexican drink. During the nearly 3-hour visit, we’ll discover how agave is cultivated, how it’s transformed into tequila, and the role this industry has played in Jalisco’s cultural identity.
Next, we’ll make a 1-hour stop at the Paraíso Azul viewpoint, one of the best panoramic spots in the region. If weather conditions allow, you’ll also have time to explore the town of Tequila at your own pace.
Finally, we’ll head to the hotel in Tequila for check-in. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to relax.
Day 2: Tequila – Guachimontones – Tequila
In the morning, we’ll pick you up and head toward one of the most surprising archaeological sites in western Mexico. We’re referring to the Guachimontones archaeological site, an important ceremonial center belonging to the ancient Teuchitlán culture.
After a journey of 1 hour and 15 minutes, we’ll enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of this complex, famous for its circular pyramids. Did you know that this architectural style is unusual in Mesoamerica? As we walk through the site, we’ll learn about the history of this pre-Hispanic civilization, its social organization, and the ritual significance of these structures dominating the landscape.
After the visit, we’ll head to another distillery, where during a 2-hour visit we’ll continue learning about the artisanal methods used to produce tequila. You’ll also be able to participate in a tasting at your own expense. Its intense flavor will surprise you!
Next, we’ll visit Rancho Agavero Don Jacinto, where you’ll be able to enjoy cantaritos at your own expense, a traditional Mexican cocktail prepared with tequila, citrus fruits, salt, and ice. In this lively and festive atmosphere, you’ll be able to relax while enjoying the music, the agave field surroundings, and the authentic spirit of Jalisco. You’ll also have time to enjoy lunch at your own expense and savor the local flavors.
After this stop, we’ll return to the hotel in Tequila, where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon free.
Day 3: Tequila – Guadalajara
We’ll begin the day by checking out of the hotel in Tequila. Once ready, we’ll begin the 1-hour-and-15-minute journey back to Guadalajara.
Upon arrival, we’ll visit Entre Charros, a venue that will introduce us to charrería, one of the country’s most representative traditions. During this experience, we’ll discover the customs and atmosphere of charreadas, surrounded by music, equestrian traditions, and the festive spirit that characterizes Jalisco.
After the 4-hour visit, we’ll head to the hotel in Guadalajara so you can settle in. The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to explore the capital of Jalisco and enjoy its gastronomy.
