Discover the largest pagoda in Vietnam and some of the country's most beautiful landscapes on our fantastic trip to the valleys of Trang An and Bai Dinh Temple from Hanoi.
Trang An and Bai Dinh Trip
We'll collect you from your hotel in the centre of Hanoi early in the morning before setting off on our exciting excursion to Trang An and Bai Dinh.
After a road trip of around two hours, we arrive in the province of Ninh Binh. Our first stop on the itinerary is the magnificent temple of Bai Dinh. This is the largest pagoda in all of Vietnam with a surface area of more than 2000 hectares (almost 5000 acres).
Our professional guide will show you around the interior of the temple, which contains 500 Arhat statues. According to Buddhism, these figures are dedicated to those followers who have reached the state of nirvana. Here you'll also discover the largest statue of Buddha in the entire country. Made of bronze, it measures more than 10 meters high and weighs more than 100 tonnes.
Immediately after this visit, you'll enjoy a delicious meal in a local restaurant, where you can try traditional dishes of the region such as goat meat with elderberry.
Our trip then continues to the region of Trang An. Here in the heart of breathtaking lush green landscapes, we'll board a boat which will take us to the most famous caves in the area - Sang, Toi, Ba Giot, and Nau Ruou.
This fantastic boat ride will also take us along the Halon river as our guide tells you some fascinating facts and anecdotes about the Trang An region. As we cruise on the water you'll admire some of the most spectacular scenery in Vietnam.
Around midafternoon, we'll take you back to your hotel in Hanoi, ending the tour 13 hours after departure.
