Learn to make the magical lanterns that illuminate Hoi An when the sun sets with this workshop led by the Vietnamese artisans who keep this tradition alive and also pay a visit to the beautiful village of Tra Que.e
First thing in the morning, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An and travel by bike to the small village of Tra Que. Here, you'll be able to breathe the fresh countryside air and even help the local people to dig, sow, plant and harvest vegetables, giving you an insight into the daily tasks of a farmer.
We'll then hop back onto our bikes and pedal through the rice fields to the artisan workshop, where we'll learn how the iconic lanterns that light up the city are made.
Did you know that Hoi An is known as the city of a thousand colours? The lanterns are one of the main attractions in the city, and in the workshop, we'll explain the origin of this magical tradition, discovering the secrets behind their shape and colours.
Then, you can put your creativity to the test, learning to make your very own lanterns! Guided on the way by expert artisans and with patience aplenty, we'll design and make our own lantern, which you can take home as a souvenir of an incredible trip.
Then, following four hours of discovering the artisanal heritage of Hoi An, we'll return to your hotel by bike.

If you just want to attend the lantern-making workshop, you can book this option. In this case, we'll meet directly at the workshop at 310 Nguyen Duy Hieu, and it will last 1 hour.
