Did you know that the vineyard landscape of Pico Island is a World Heritage Site? On this tour, you'll discover the flora, fauna, and history of one of the most beautiful islands of the Azores.
Pico Island Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Horta at 9 am and then take a boat to Pico Island. We'll traverse landscapes of endless vineyards, declared World Heritage Site, and visit the most beautiful villages on this island.
Once we get to the island, we'll explore the village of São Mateus, where one of the oldest parishes on the island is located. We'll also visit a crafts workshop and a traditional cheese factory.
We'll then move on to our next stop: Lajes do Pico, the first inhabited spot on the island. There we'll also visit the Museo dos Baleeiros to understand the great importance attached to fishing in this area.
Anyone hungry? We'll have a buffet lunch at a local restaurant and then head to our next destination, the village of São Roque. On the way, we'll stop at Lagoa do Capitão, one of the largest and most famous lagoons in Pico. The views from there will be amazing.
After filling our camera rolls with pictures, we'll go to Vila de São Roque and visit the beautiful parish of Bandeiras. To finish the tour, we'll head to Arcos do Cachorro to admire the striking landscape these sea caves provide.
After a day exploring Pico Island, we'll drop you back at your hotel in Horta between 4 and 5 pm.
