Immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural landscapes of the northern Amazon Rainforest on this five-day tour of the jungle from Iquitos.
Amazon Rainforest 5 Day Tour
After picking you up from your hotel or the airport in Iquitos, we'll set off for our accommodation in the Amazon jungle by boat. During the cruise, we'll make a stop for a first experience of the incredible wildlife native to the Amazon. Keep your eyes peeled for piranhas, turtles and lizards!
In the afternoon, we'll head out to visit the village of Timicurillo, where our lodge is located, and we'll discover how the locals live here and how they use plants in their traditional medicine. After eating dinner in the evening, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a night walk in the jungle... if you dare!
We'll start the day with a visit to Neyser Island to explore its reptile sanctuary. Here, we'll have the opportunity to hold enormous anacondas with our own hands and get up close to other animals like monkeys and sloths too!
After having a break for lunch, we'll next visit a butterfly farm, where we'll get to see some of the rarest species in the Amazon.
On day three, you'll have the opportunity to wake up bright and early at 4:30 am to watch a spectacular sunset over the Amazon rainforest - a truly unforgettable experience! Afterwards, we'll return to the lodge and have a well-earned breakfast.
Next we'll embark on another boat trip along the Amazon River to visit a Yagua community where the inhabitants will show us their traditional dances and handicrafts. We'll then go to the village of San Rafael to learn about the way of life of another of the communities of the Peruvian Amazon.
After enjoying dinner at the lodge, you can choose to take a night time hike in the jungle to discover its nocturnal wildlife.
Day four will begin with an adventure on the Yanayacu River. We'll set sail by boat to the town of San Juan de Huashalado, crossing over the "black waters" in a traditional canoe.
Immersed in this virgin paradise, we'll discover some of the native species of the Amazon and even have the opportunity to swim with the famous pink Amazon river dolphins if we're lucky! We'll then have lunch at the home of a local farmer.
On the last day of our five day Amazon tour, we'll sail down the river to Monkey Island where we'll get to meet these cheeky creatures.
Finally, we'll return to the lodge for a last lunch together in the jungle before we return to Iquitos. You'll be dropped either at your hotel or the airport at around 4 pm.
This five day tour includes four nights' full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
